Old School

Do Not Make These 5 Old School Mistakes in Your Home Based Business
In this special report, you will discover why the "old school" methods of network marketing are becoming extinct and why you will need to change your ways before your business disappears along with them.
1. Buying opportunity leads (in most cases) leaves you with less money and more frustration than when you had before you have them at all. The reason I say this is because (if you have not already noticed) most people that respond to those types of advertisements, have little want with YOU or your opportunity. The reason for this is quite simple. These people do not know who you are, respect you enough to listen and or know anything about you and what you are truly doing. To make the problem worse... you almost feel as if you need to sell these leads in the first 30 seconds of meeting them. As an added bonus, most people looking to start a home based business (if they are looking), have little to no sales training which makes the task even harder.
2. Posting in forums may sound like a good idea, but really when it comes down to it, who has that kind of time? Small business owners should not try to focus now days on the exposure that a single response will make. It is also helpful to keep in mind that should you actually post a decent and intriguing reply, it could very easily lost in a long list of responses. But this also posses another thought. What if you were less versed than most in the topic at hand. For the rookie marketer, the last thing you would want is to be singled out.
3. Cold calling genealogy lists are another terrible idea now days. Sure, finding "the one" person who actually still cares enough about an organization or company that more than likely left a bad taste in their mouth would be ideal. But the long history of shady dealings and poor up-line support slowly decays most peoples hopes and aspirations. It is also a very tough road to travel when you have to pitch someone "new" as they are now a cold prospect that now has an unsolicited phone call to deal with. Plus, there is a new outlook on our industry of self preservation and inclusion without defecting your current company for a new / better one. Calling genealogy list now days are not only frowned upon but could also be considered destructive to the industry itself. Not good for you or your business.
4. Handing out business cards was once considered the "Mecca" of being in business. In fact if you did not have business cards back then, you might have been considered "out of business". But let me ask you this. Have you ever took a business card from someone that you knew, would most likely be found months down the road? Proving that a lasting impression with a flashy business card is no longer fit for this new age of information. Not when all someone needs to do is Google your company name or product to find out more than what you have said about it. Not to mention, that business cards are as common as they get. Instead of you looking original, it makes you look just like everyone else.
5. Holding home meetings was a well organized and proven method for traditional marketers. Even today, it does work to some extent. But, where most people run into problems is when they have to open their homes to sometimes absolute strangers. This also causes a problem when your new found member does not have a house. Even though home meetings are cost effective compared to restaurants or hotel meetings, it still has extremely limited potential and does not provide a duplicable system for most people in their business.
As you can see, some of these "old school" methods are sill in practice today. In fact you might have even employed or currently employ some of these methods today. Which is unfortunate considering almost none of those utilize the most advanced way of communication ever know to man. The simple ruling out of the internet today by not even including it in your business could have you scrambling for more income by chasing down your unwilling prospects in a viscous circle of aggravation.
But, there is hope. Considering you have been introduced to this concept on the internet today, you can now start to experience the social proof that yes it works (and it works very well). You see, this article can now be shared with tens or hundreds of thousands of people across the globe. Instantly increasing your value to the community and to the people who are actively searching for you or your product.
Here is a list of things you should consider as you prepare your next move in these uncharted waters. You will discover...
- How sharing useful bits of information about your business or community can literally have prospects chase you down.
- Implement your business online in such a way, that people instantly join your opportunity, sometimes without you having to speak with them at all.
- Simply work with those who want to work with you instead of begging those who have no interest.
Now you have a decision to make. Stick with the "old school" methods of marketing, or supercharge your success by searching for the answers that are found on the internet today. Go ahead... it is out there. How do you think I was able to share this message with you? Cheers!
